I spent a couple of hours this morning sanding down the internal structure of the e-type roadster’s tail section, trying to get it to settle onto the lower section so I could finally glue it down. It’s tedious. You look for where it’s rocking, or sitting up and then you go reduce that spot. And repeat and repeat.
It was going well and then I accidentally dropped the tail on the tile floor.
It’s cracked!
I filled the crack with some clear CA glue. I’ll have to smooth and sand, and then re-prime that area. But the good news is that it’s pretty much sitting level where I want to, so with a big deep breath I could finally glue the tail onto the rest of the body. I will probably wait until I have sorted out the mess I made, just in case I need to do more rework.
<sigh>
Wow mate, that's a lucky break.. excuse the pun! Lucky as in it only was a short fracture. Glad it wasn't anything more terminal and an easy fix.
